Large post-war estates have thousands of identical roofs and soffits. On the Broxtowe estate we treat wasp nests for a fixed £90.
The Broxtowe estate is a large area of post-war housing, built in similar styles with similar roof details. That uniformity means the same weak spots turn up again and again: a lifted tile, a gap at the fascia, a vent without a mesh. A queen looks for a sheltered cavity in spring, and by high summer the nest she starts can hold a great many workers. Look above porches and around the gable ends first.
Our price is a fixed £90 for treating the nest, and we respond the same day where we can. The technician will check the surrounding roofline, as a gap that let one nest in may be used again. Do not block the opening beforehand. Once the colony has gone, ask a roofer or builder to close the gap so it does not invite another queen next spring.
It can. Wasp colonies do not reuse an old nest, but a new queen may choose the same sheltered gap the following spring. Repairing the opening after treatment reduces that chance. Tell us about any lifted tiles or damaged fascia boards, as these help the technician check for further entrances.
Keep the room calm, close doors to other rooms and open a window away from where you are. Do not swat in the area of the entry point. Call us and describe where they are coming in.
A wasp nest treatment is a fixed cost of £90. There is no call-out charge.

On a post-war estate, pigeons find the flat roofs, balconies and walkway ledges. Making those spots unusable is what actually moves them on.
Read the advice →Post-war houses were not built with mice in mind, and they have plenty of small openings round pipes and extensions. Finding them is half the battle.
