Leafy streets, large lofts and mature gardens suit squirrels, wasps and moths. We deal with the pests around Wollaton homes.
Trees near the park mean grey squirrels are familiar here, and larger detached homes have lofts big enough to hold a nest unnoticed. Squirrels chew cables and timber, so scratching overhead in the early morning is worth investigating. Roomy older homes with wardrobes and stored textiles can also suffer from moths. Larger homes have more rooms to check, so we ask when you first saw signs, as that tells us whether activity is recent or has built up over months.
Moth damage comes from the larvae, which eat natural fibres such as wool and cashmere, not the adults. We identify the cause, treat it, and explain how to protect stored clothing. Mature gardens also attract rats where bird feed or compost is left, so we cover that in the free survey. A free prevention survey also covers the garden, including where overhanging branches, dense hedges and bin storage could be giving pests an easy approach.
They can be. Squirrels nest in lofts, chew cables and may damage insulation and timber. Treatment should be followed by closing the entry point so they do not return. Prompt action is sensible because damaged insulation and gnawed timber cost more to fix than the pest control itself, and nests tend to grow once established.
Clean items before storing, keep them sealed and check wardrobes regularly. It is the larvae that eat wool and other natural fibres. If damage continues, call us to identify the cause. Wash or dry-clean affected items, vacuum drawers and wardrobe corners, and use sealed storage. Because the larvae feed unseen, we may also need to check rugs and furniture.

Large gardens and mature trees are lovely, but they bring wildlife closer to the house. This checklist is aimed at the roofs, sheds and gardens of leafy-suburb homes.
Read the advice →The vet treatment worked on the dog, yet the bites continued. In a carpeted semi, most of the flea population is not on the animal at all but in the house.
