New houses are not immune. Gaps around services and builders' leftovers can let pests in. We treat Lindhurst homes and show you where to seal.
People often assume a new-build is pest-proof. In practice, service pipes, loft hatches and the junction between garage and house can leave small gaps, and recently turned ground nearby can disturb rats and mice, pushing them towards the new streets. Gardens that are still being established give ants plenty of fresh soil to nest in. Look around the point where pipes enter the house, the loft hatch seal and the garage door threshold, as small gaps there are typical in recent builds.
There is also less mature planting, so wasps often choose the loft or the soffit. We identify the pest, treat it and explain which gaps to ask your builder or landlord about. If the home is under a warranty period, mention it to the developer as well. We offer a free prevention survey with every treatment. Newly seeded lawns and fresh paving also mean ants may nest in the soft ground, and trails to the kitchen often show up first in warm weather.
Mice need only a small gap, and new houses can have gaps around pipes, vents and loft hatches. Closing these is the main defence. If your builder is still on site or your home is under warranty, ask about any gaps you find, and keep photographs so that the facts are clear.
It is worth checking your warranty terms and reporting any building defects. We can explain what we found, which may help when you speak to them. Keep food in sealed containers, report gaps and do not leave rubbish stored outside the building. Early treatment prevents mice from building a nest in a cavity wall.
No. There are no call-out charges, and prices are fixed so you know what you are paying before we arrive.
Newly built does not mean moth-free. The holes in a cashmere scarf are made by tiny larvae, and they can arrive in a box from an older home you moved from.
Read the advice →New homes feel sealed, but small gaps round pipes, garage doors and loft hatches still let pests in. A short checklist done twice a year catches most of them.
