A small rural settlement in the Newark area, Meering's barn conversions and farm units sit directly beside the fields where rodents live.
Many rural businesses now operate from converted barns, farm workshops and diversification units, and these keep their agricultural character even when newly fitted out. Timber, loft voids and original openings are easy for mice and squirrels to use. Meering is surrounded by farmland, so there is nothing between such a unit and the open fields, and activity may pick up as crops are cleared and the nights draw in.
We provide a free survey and a free written inspection report, looking at the converted structure, roof spaces, services and surroundings. Our report points out where a conversion has left gaps that a purpose-built unit would not have. Regular visits can then be agreed, and everything about the arrangement is set out clearly before it starts. Mention any recent works to the roof.
Often. Original timbers, large openings and shared roof spaces leave gaps that new construction would not. The survey looks for these and says which could realistically be sealed. Some are easier to fix than others, so we explain which gaps matter most and which can wait for a convenient moment.
Grey squirrels nest in lofts and chew cables, which can damage wiring and insulation. If you hear movement in a roof space, call us and we will survey and advise on what is needed. Pest-proofing the roof is often the first step.
Yes. Ongoing contracts help spread the costs of commercial pest control.
