A small rural settlement with fields all round it means rats are close to the house, barn and garden. We survey the full plot and deal with them.
A scattering of homes among fields leaves little between rats and your property. Barns, stables, workshops and garden stores provide cover close to where feed, fuel and tools are kept, and the nearest field margin may be a short run away. Rural properties often have long histories of ad hoc storage, with stacked timber, old machinery and sacks, all of which suit rats well.
Our survey looks at the full plot, tracking runs and burrows from field edge to building. We then choose baiting or trapping to suit the setting and any animals kept on site. Free advice covers proofing and storage. Charges are fixed, no call-out fee applies, and we are happy to book a visit around the working day.
Stored items give rats cover and nesting material. Tidying and lifting stacks off the ground make it easier to spot activity, and treatment is more effective when hiding places are reduced.
Rats can cover a surprising distance in search of food and shelter, but they tend to stay where both are reliable. We cannot say exactly how far, as it depends on conditions around your property.
Rats come for food, water and shelter. Accessible waste, open drains, bird feed and gaps in buildings can all draw them in.
