Farmland surrounds this rural village in the Newark and Sherwood area, so local businesses and farm units are close to the source of the rodents they face.
Staunton is a rural village in the Newark and Sherwood area, and its businesses are the kind that thrive in the countryside: farm outbuildings, stables, small workshops and the odd shop or tearoom. Feed, bedding and straw feed rodents, and wild birds may use roof spaces. Because everything is close to open fields, quick action after a first sighting matters, as a small number of rodents can become many by winter.
We offer a free survey and a free written inspection report, visiting by appointment and recording what we find in each building. The report separates feed stores, stables, workshops and public areas so you can see what needs doing where. Visits are then agreed to match the working year, and wild birds, being protected, are only dealt with lawfully. Remote sites are fine.
They usually do, because feed, bedding and straw feed rodents all year. The survey identifies where food is accessible, and the written report suggests tidier storage as well as a visit pattern. Prompt action matters.
Wild birds are protected, so proofing and deterrent work has to be lawful, and nesting birds may limit what can be done at certain times. We explain the options after the survey before anything is done.

In a village with fields at the end of the garden, an ant trail can run a long way before it reaches your back door. Follow it before you spray anything.
