With town housing, estates and nearby open land all in the mix, carpet beetle problems here vary. We start by finding where the larvae are really feeding.
This part of Broxtowe borough, west of Nottingham, combines everyday town housing with estates and stretches of open land. That variety matters, because the cause of a carpet beetle problem differs: in one house it is a rug and a damp-free wardrobe, in another it is a nest in the eaves, and in another it is an inherited second-hand sofa.
We do not assume. The inspection looks at carpets, skirting, furniture seams and storage, then at any accessible loft. Treatment is applied to what we find, and we explain what depends on what. If you are unsure what damaged your fabrics, we can identify the pest from the damage and any shed skins.
We look at the pattern of damage, shed skins, any larvae and where they are. Bristly larvae and irregular holes near edges point to carpet beetle, whereas silk and cases suggest moths. We explain this on every visit.
Seal a few in a bag or tape, as they help confirm the pest. Try not to vacuum the area before we arrive.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.

Cockroaches are rarely a single sighting. By the time one runs across the floor in the light, there is usually a group hiding in warm gaps nearby.
Read the advice →For a cafe, restaurant or pub, a single sighting can mean a bad review or a visit from environmental health. A planned approach keeps small problems small.
