Edwardian rooms with good rugs, original floors and plenty of storage are favoured by carpet beetle larvae. In West Bridgford we inspect carefully and treat precisely.
West Bridgford's Edwardian and inter-war houses often have original floorboards with rugs, deep skirtings and big built-in cupboards. Gaps between boards collect dust and fibres, which larvae can feed on, and rugs laid over them are protected from disturbance. Later developments in the suburb will have fitted carpets, where the edges are the main risk.
We lift and inspect what we need to, check storage, and confirm the pest before treating. Where a family keeps good textiles or sentimental items, tell us in advance so we can discuss how to protect them properly. Match-day traffic around the cricket and football grounds can affect parking, so let us know your access arrangements.
Gaps between boards collect dust and fibres, which gives larvae food and cover. Cleaning gaps and vacuuming under rugs helps, and we check these areas during inspection.
We offer appointments to suit you. If your street is busy on match days, mention it when booking and we will agree a time that avoids the difficulty. Every home is a little different. This is a common question and a fair one.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.
