Between the racecourse, the park and the Trent, Colwick's mix of hospitality sites and industrial areas deals with rodents, birds and insects year-round.
Colwick has housing, industrial areas and the racecourse and park all within a short distance of the River Trent. Water attracts rats, open grass supports rodents and birds, and big events bring food waste in quantity. Industrial units here deal with warehousing and loading, while hospitality premises have kitchens and large bin areas. All of these combine to make Colwick a place where a one-time treatment seldom settles things for good.
Our commercial division carries out a free survey and a free written inspection report for both kinds of site. We look at kitchens, stock areas, drains, roofs and the ground around the premises, then recommend a visit programme to suit event schedules or shift patterns. Wild birds are protected, so any proofing we suggest has to be lawful. Tell us about any event dates.
We can assess the problem during a survey. Because wild birds are protected, we only recommend proofing that is lawful, and we explain what is suitable for the building before any work begins. Both feature in the report, with notes on each.
It tends to mean more rat pressure, because water, banks and drains offer cover and routes. We pay close attention to the boundary and drainage in the survey and set the visit plan accordingly. Tell us where the water meets your site and which drains run nearby.

Read the advice →You do not catch bed bugs by being untidy. You catch them from a suitcase, a coat or a sofa. Knowing that makes the first steps much clearer.
