Between the racecourse, the park and the Trent, Colwick combines housing with industrial areas. Pigeons use both, and we proof each to suit.
Industrial units close to the river have wide roof edges, loading bays, canopies and open yards, all attractive to pigeons. Droppings can foul stock, vehicles and walkways, and staff may find nests above doors. We survey the roofline and openings and recommend practical proofing for a working site, with a free written inspection report available on request. Open yards near the river also see scavenging birds, which is another reason to keep waste covered.
Houses in the area face the more usual issues of ridges, chimneys and porches. Open space nearby means birds can range widely, so we focus on removing the sheltered spots they use. Wild birds are protected, so we use lawful and humane methods only. Free advice applies to every visit. Sites with several units may need a plan covering each roof line, and we can write this up for the manager.
Usually. Loading bays have open doors and sheltered ledges that pigeons like. We assess the openings and ledges, then propose proofing that keeps operations running. A free survey sets out the options. Vehicles parked under favoured roosts are often the first sign, since droppings mark paintwork quickly.
Our commercial division offers free surveys and a free written inspection report, recording what we found and what we recommend. Large sliding or roller doors that stay open give birds easy access, and we discuss that during the survey.
No. Proofing is designed to stop birds landing or nesting, and the methods used must be lawful.

Read the advice →You do not catch bed bugs by being untidy. You catch them from a suitcase, a coat or a sofa. Knowing that makes the first steps much clearer.
