Mansfield is a large town with plenty of older property and estates. When fabrics are being eaten, we work out whether carpet beetle larvae are the cause and where they live.
Mansfield, a market town with a mining and brewing history, has older buildings in the centre and numerous estates beyond. Its position on the edge of Sherwood Forest country means gardens with mature trees and plenty of birds, and the remains of old nests in eaves can feed larvae. That is a route by which a clean, well-kept house can still end up with damaged carpets.
We start by confirming the pest, then look at carpets, edges, furnishings and storage, and any accessible roof space. Treatment goes where the larvae are. Businesses such as pubs, offices and shops can use our free commercial survey and written report, which sets out the findings and our proposed treatment.
Yes. Our commercial division offers free surveys and a free written inspection report for businesses, covering what we found and recommended treatment. If the same item keeps getting damaged, it is a sign the larvae are still active nearby.
Not entirely. Adults arrive from outdoors and old nests can feed larvae. Good housekeeping lowers the risk, but regular checks of quiet corners matter as well. Our free advice covers this. There is no obligation to ask.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.
