Older buildings around Worksop Priory and the town centre have lofts, floors and storage rooms that suit larvae. Later housing has its own typical hiding spots.
Worksop is a Bassetlaw market town with older property around the centre and Priory, and later housing beyond. Old buildings often have thick floors, hidden voids and rooms that are seldom heated or entered, which lets larvae feed in peace for months. Later homes more often have the problem at carpet edges and in furniture.
We look at the history of the damage and match our search to the building. In an older property we spend time on floors, voids and storage. In a newer one we focus on edges, wardrobes and upholstery. Treatment is then applied to the confirmed feeding sites, and we follow up where the infestation needs it.
Cool, quiet rooms are left alone, so dust and fibre build up and larvae feed undisturbed. Treating them is part of the job, along with regular airing and vacuuming.
Our commercial division carries out free surveys and gives a free written inspection report, so decisions on treatment are clear. Ask us on the visit and we will go through it.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.
