Older town-centre buildings and big estates both have a place in Hucknall's housing. We know the different ways carpet beetle larvae make themselves at home in each.
Hucknall is a former mining town in Ashfield with older property near the centre and extensive later estates around it. Older buildings, including flats above shops, may have uneven floors, gaps and long-neglected storage. Estate houses are typically carpeted throughout, with wardrobes and lofts holding the textiles that larvae feed on.
The visit begins with identifying the damage, since moths are often blamed wrongly. We then check edges, furnishings and storage, treating where larvae are found. If you run a small business in the town, perhaps with soft furnishings or stock, our commercial survey and written report are free. We follow up where the infestation requires it.
Both pests damage natural fibres, so holes look alike. Carpet beetle larvae are bristly and leave skins, while clothes moth larvae spin silk. We identify which, as treatment differs. A short conversation usually clears this up.
We cover homes and commercial premises, including mixed-use buildings. We check the flat and any connected storage, and advise on any shared spaces.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.
Carpet Beetle Control across Nottinghamshire · Pest control in Hucknall
You have wormed and spot-treated the dog, yet the bites carry on. In a Hucknall house the animal is only a small part of the flea problem, and the carpets hold the rest.
