Large villas split into flats and tight terraces are both common near Mansfield Road, and both suit cockroaches. We find the source and treat it properly.
A big Victorian villa cut into several flats shares a lot: cellars, stairwells, drains and often a single boiler. Cockroaches in the ground-floor flat may have come from the basement, and a treatment limited to one kitchen leaves the rest of the building untouched. Our visits look at the shared spaces as well as the flat that called us. We would rather find the cause than simply treat the symptoms, because a cause left in place invites a return.
Terraces nearby are simpler to survey but share walls. In both cases we identify the species, treat the places where insects rest and the routes between them, and suggest practical changes such as sealing gaps around pipes and keeping bins closed. If several occupiers are involved, we can explain what needs doing in each part. Sticky monitoring traps, if you have them, help show where activity is heaviest before we arrive.
Often it helps. Where flats share pipes, voids and cellars, cockroaches can move between them. We inspect the affected flat and the shared areas, then say whether others should be checked. Keep any droppings or insects you find, as they help with identification.
Both German and oriental cockroaches are possible. Oriental ones tend to prefer cooler, damper places such as cellars and ground floors, while German ones favour warm kitchens. Identifying the species shapes the treatment. We keep the explanation short and practical.
