Old terraces and converted industrial premises give cockroaches plenty of undisturbed space. We locate where they rest and treat the routes they use.
Former industrial buildings often have thick walls, old service ducts and floors that have been patched over the years. Where these have been turned into workshops, kitchens or flats, the voids and pipe runs remain, and cockroaches can use them to move from one unit to another without ever crossing an open floor. Because they hide by day, treating only the places you have seen them rarely reaches the main group.
The surrounding terraces bring a more familiar picture, with warm kitchens and boiler cupboards. Whichever applies, we start by identifying the species and mapping where activity is, then treat the harbourages and the links between them. We also look at how food and waste are handled, because treatment is only part of keeping them out. A follow-up visit lets us check whether any egg cases have hatched since the first treatment.
They can, because there are more gaps and voids for insects to use. It depends on the building. A careful inspection to find every harbourage matters more than the number of visits, and sealing helps afterwards. A short chat on the phone usually tells us what to look for.
Note where and when you have seen insects, and keep cupboards under sinks accessible. Do not use over-the-counter sprays beforehand, as they can scatter the insects and make activity harder to trace. Results depend on the size of the problem and the building.
They can arrive in deliveries, boxes or from neighbouring properties and settle where there is warmth, food and moisture.
