Mature gardens around Wollaton give ants plenty of nesting ground. We trace the trail from the garden to your kitchen and treat the source.
The larger plots in this leafy suburb of semis and detached houses offer ants a lot of cover: borders, old walls, rockeries and decking. Nests can be well away from the house, with trails of several metres to a conservatory or kitchen. Aphids on garden shrubs attract ants because the insects feed on their honeydew, so a busy plant in summer can lead to a trail indoors.
On a larger plot the trail may take a while to trace, so we start where you last saw the ants and follow back. We treat the nest and the route, and explain which garden features are likely to host a colony. We aim to offer appointments to suit, and our pricing is fixed cost with no call-out charges.
Decking offers shelter, warmth and a hidden space. We check beneath and around it if the trail leads that way.
Foraging ants can range a fair distance, so the nest may be well away from the house. We follow the trail, which is more reliable than guessing.
Ants follow trails to food, so crumbs, spills and open food can attract them.

Large gardens and mature trees are lovely, but they bring wildlife closer to the house. This checklist is aimed at the roofs, sheds and gardens of leafy-suburb homes.
