Riverside trees and hedgerows around Gunthorpe give squirrels routes to roofs. We survey, treat the problem and advise on proofing.
Gunthorpe is a riverside village on the Trent, known for its bridge and lock. Properties along the river and in the village are surrounded by willows, hedges and gardens, and squirrels travel easily through them. Damp air near the river can also leave timber at eaves and outbuildings softer than elsewhere, and softer timber is easier to gnaw. A holiday let or second home that is empty for weeks is an ideal quiet space for a nest.
We carry out a survey of the house and outbuildings, find the entry points and deal with the squirrels lawfully. We then advise on repairs. Where a property is left empty for periods, we suggest regular checks of the loft. We offer same day visits where possible, and there is no call-out charge for the survey.
A quiet loft can be used for weeks without anyone noticing. If you leave a property empty, check the loft and roofline periodically and fix any weaknesses promptly.

Yes. They can chew timber, insulation and cables, and cable damage can be a fire risk.
