A riverside village with a lock, a bridge and visitors passing through gives rats water, cover and food. We help Gunthorpe homes and businesses deal with them.
Water draws rats, and Gunthorpe's position on the Trent, with its bridge and lock, means river banks, moorings and waterside paths are close to homes. Where there are visitors, there are also bins and food waste, which are an easy supplement. Houses nearer the water may see rats using banks and drains, while those further back tend to find them through gardens and outbuildings.
We survey the property and the ground around it, looking at drains, banks, sheds and bins. Treatment is by baiting or trapping, chosen with care for the water edge, wildlife and pets. Our commercial division offers free surveys and written inspection reports for any food or hospitality premises, and domestic customers receive free pest prevention advice.
Yes. We offer a free survey and written inspection report for commercial premises, and will recommend waste handling and proofing suited to the site, as well as arranging treatment if needed. If in doubt, a quick call is the simplest way to check.
Treatment near water needs extra care to protect wildlife and prevent contamination. We choose methods and positions accordingly, and trapping can sometimes be preferred. We will explain the options at the survey.
Rats come for food, water and shelter. Accessible waste, open drains, bird feed and gaps in buildings can all draw them in.
