Mapperley covers two quite different building types. Mapperley Park has large Victorian villas with cellars, high roofs and mature gardens, while the inter-war and post-war streets nearby are more compact. Filling holes can help once rats are cleared, but sealing them while rats are inside can push them elsewhere in the building. Treat first, then proof with suitable materials as advised after the survey.
Rats come for food, water and shelter. Accessible waste, open drains, bird feed and gaps in buildings can all draw them in.
