From grand villas to 1930s semis, bed bugs find a way in. We inspect Mapperley homes thoroughly and treat the infestation at its source.
Mapperley covers Victorian villas in Mapperley Park as well as inter-war and post-war housing. Large old villas have many rooms, original floors and stairs, plus long-standing furniture, so searching takes patience. Newer semis are simpler, but bed bugs can still be present around the bed and in soft furnishings. Where the home has been let in rooms or has frequent guests, extra care is needed.
We ask about recent travel, new furniture and who stays in which room. The inspection focuses on beds first, then the room fittings and the edges of floors. Afterwards we give clear advice on laundering and preparation. We have been in the business since 1995, and our treatments come with a free prevention survey and advice.
Larger houses have more rooms to inspect and more furniture to consider. We plan the visit around what we find, then explain the work and any follow-up needed.
They can shelter at carpet edges and in gaps by the skirting, though they are mostly near beds. We check these areas, because treating only the mattress can leave some behind.
No. Bed bugs are picked up from travel, second-hand furniture and visitors, and can appear in clean homes and hotels.
