New homes still get mice. Gaps around services and unfinished gardens can let them in, and we help you find and close them.
People often assume a new home cannot have mice, but new-build estates have their own weak points. Pipes and cables pass through walls with small gaps around them, garage doors may not seal perfectly, and gardens may be bare soil next to open land or building plots. Where construction continues nearby, disturbed ground pushes mice towards finished houses. Quiet, newly landscaped plots can feel safe, yet they offer little cover for mice, so they come looking for buildings.
In a newer house, we focus on service entries under sinks and behind the boiler, the join between garage and house, and the loft eaves. Free advice comes with every treatment, and you also get a clear idea of which areas your builder or developer may need to address. There are no call-out charges, so a first check costs nothing in itself.
It may depend on the warranty and the cause. We describe what we find, which helps you raise the issue with your developer if a build gap is the reason. Keep a record of dates, photographs and what we find, and check the terms of your warranty to see what applies to your home.
Mice need only a tiny gap and a source of food. Building work can also disturb them, so homes next to ground that is being cleared or built on can be visited early. Do not assume the house is too clean or too new for it to happen.
Mice can squeeze through very small gaps around pipes, vents, doors and airbricks, so even a tidy home can have them.

Newly built does not mean moth-free. The holes in a cashmere scarf are made by tiny larvae, and they can arrive in a box from an older home you moved from.
