With open land close by and suburban housing on the slope, pets here meet fleas outdoors. We treat the carpets and furniture at home.
Houses on a hillside above Arnold have fields and open land close at hand, which gives dogs and cats a bigger world to explore than a town centre would. They come back with burrs, mud and sometimes fleas. Suburban homes then provide warm carpets and settees, which suit the insects very well. Often the first sign is a pet that cannot stop scratching, rather than anything seen on the floor.
We trace where the pet spends its time and treat the carpets and soft furnishings around those places, then move through the rest of the house as needed. Washing and vacuuming advice is clear and practical. Fixed cost pricing is agreed beforehand and we do not add a call-out charge. Your vet is the right person for flea products for the animal.
They can be, because animals meet other animals and sheltered ground outdoors. But fleas occur in all kinds of homes. What matters is how quickly you notice and treat both the pet and the house.
Some people try, and results vary. Home treatments may miss eggs and pupae in deep pile and under furniture. If fleas persist after your own attempt, call us and tell us what you used. Mention what you used on the phone.
Yes. Pets should be treated as well, and your vet can advise on suitable flea treatment alongside the home treatment.
