A night of bites and rust-coloured marks on the sheets points one way. We inspect Sneinton homes, confirm what is there and treat it step by step.
Sneinton's Victorian terraces and the activity around Sneinton Market mean a steady flow of people, goods and second-hand furniture. Bed bugs do not come from places, they come from things that have been in infested rooms, such as a bed frame, a rug or a bag. If you buy furniture secondhand, it is worth checking the seams before it goes into the bedroom.
When we visit, we examine the mattress edges, bed frame joints, headboard, bedside furniture and the skirting boards. We do not rely on spray alone, because bed bugs scatter into small crevices. We are BPCA members, and appointments are arranged to suit you, including same day visits, so you do not have to sleep another night wondering what is biting.
Bites alone are not reliable, as other insects cause similar marks. Look for rust spots on bedding, shed skins along mattress seams and live insects. An inspection can confirm it for certain.
Not before we have spoken. Moving things around can spread bed bugs. We will tell you what to wash, bag or leave alone so preparation helps rather than makes things worse.
No. Bed bugs are picked up from travel, second-hand furniture and visitors, and can appear in clean homes and hotels.
