Older Sneinton buildings, from terraces to premises near the market, hold a lot of fabric, dust and stored stock. Larvae are often found long after they settle in.
Sneinton mixes Victorian terraces with older commercial premises around Sneinton Market. Houses here tend to have original features, bare floors with rugs, and storage in cellars or attics. Businesses may hold textiles, upholstery or stock that sits untouched for months, which is just what larvae look for.
We inspect carefully for the source, because treating only the visible damage rarely solves it. In a home, that may mean lifting rugs and checking skirting and cupboards. In a business, it may mean examining stock areas and storage. We can provide a free written inspection report for commercial sites.
We cover domestic and commercial properties. For businesses there is a free survey and a written inspection report, which helps where stock, display fabrics or upholstery may be affected.
Stored wool, silk and fur offer undisturbed food, and larvae can go unnoticed for months. Checking stored items a couple of times a year, and keeping them sealed, is the most dependable habit. Results depend on how established the problem is.
Both damage natural fibres, but they are different insects with different larvae, so correct identification matters for treatment.
