Bed bugs do not care whether a house is old or newer. We inspect Thorney Wood properties, find where they are living and treat them properly.
Thorney Wood, east of the city centre near Sneinton, has Victorian terraces alongside later housing. Bed bugs are found in both. In older terraces they use gaps in boards and skirting, while in later homes they tend to stay close to the bed, hiding in slats, headboards and bedside furniture. Either way they are found by looking carefully, not by guessing from bites alone.
We ask questions first: when the bites began, whether anyone has travelled, and whether any furniture arrived recently. Then we inspect and treat. If the infestation is bigger than expected, we arrange a follow-up visit. We are a BPCA member business, and our prices are fixed, whichever house you live in.
Usually, bag it and wash at the highest temperature the fabric allows, but ask us first. Wrong handling can spread bed bugs. We give specific advice when you book.
They can be active indoors at any time of year, because heated homes suit them. Travel and visitors at holiday times can bring them in. Do not wait for the weather to change.
No. Bed bugs are picked up from travel, second-hand furniture and visitors, and can appear in clean homes and hotels.
