Cottages and newer homes sit side by side in Farndon, with the river and farmland nearby. We deal with cockroaches in the kitchens and voids where they actually live.
An older cottage tends to have uneven floors, stone or brick walls and pipe runs added in stages, so gaps are common. A newer home on the edge of the village has tidier services but warm integrated appliances and fitted kitchens. Both suit cockroaches, though in different ways, and the treatment we choose follows from which one we are looking at. Cockroaches also leave an odour trail that attracts others, which is one reason they gather in the same spots.
The Trent and the farmland help explain damp and rodents, less so cockroaches, which are usually brought in with boxes, appliances or visitors. We check kitchens, boiler spaces, pantries and outbuildings, identify the species and treat accordingly. You also get simple advice on damp, storage, bins and sealing. Younger insects are small and pale, and can be mistaken for a different kind of beetle until they are looked at closely.
Only in where we look. Old houses have more gaps, new ones more warm voids. Either can host cockroaches if food, moisture and warmth are available. We keep notes on what was found for follow-up visits. If it helps, we can speak to your landlord or manager too.
We ask about sightings, inspect hiding places, identify the species and treat. Then we explain what to change and whether a follow-up would help. Fixed cost pricing means you know the cost first. The first visit usually answers most of these questions.
They can arrive in deliveries, boxes or from neighbouring properties and settle where there is warmth, food and moisture.
